The TREC includes various equestrian proficiencies in three phases on 2 days. They are to make with the same horse and the same harness. The aim of this competition is the success of a pair in front of a lot of difficulties instead of the success in an only field.

In TREC,  the work of the horse can be do in hand : to overcome an obstacle, to overcome a gap, to back up in a corridor,...


The TREC became , since the beginning of the 90’s, a strong federative factor of the FITE. International championships are organised successively in every NETO affiliated to the FITE, according to the norms of the responsibility book corresponding.


He has to have 6 years minimum and have a good physical condition, calm, reception and complicity with his rider.


He has to have 16 years minimum. He is able to move in a natural environment, with a topographical map and cross in security all of the difficulties coming across in the nature. No official dress imposed, but a proper dress is required. The wearing of the horse helmet is compulsory on all of the phases.



The P.O.R.

Compas, map and chronometer are the essential instruments for this test. The competitors have to take itineraries from 30 to 50 kms corresponding to a route, discovered only 20 mn before the start. Controls of sections and controls of passing (which the competitors don’t know the site) are located in all of the route. These control centers permit to check the hour of the passing of the competitor, the exactness of the route took and le good health of the horse (veterinary control). The riders respect a speed required, between 6 to 12 km/h. A good control of the topography allows to anticipate the effort of the horse and to manage his progression..  



The P.T.V.

This tour from 1,5 to 5 km, has to do in an good period, at the speed of 12 km/h. It introduces a lot of natural difficulties or simulated difficulties : trunk, gap, footbridge, hedge, ford, gate, immobility, …. The judges mark the efficience,  the style of the pair, the selected pace by the competitor and the possible penalties. This phase, set the day after the POR, allows to estimate the aptitude of the horse to take over after an effort intensed and sustained.

The control of the paces

This phase is designated to promote the paces of the horse. In a materialized corridor of nearly 2 meters of broad, the horse must travel a distance of 150 m, first in the slowest gallop, and then in the most quickly pace. Put down a feet out of the corridor or do a break of pace lead the loose of all of the points, for the considered pace.

Young riders TREC European championship 2019


The young riders TREC European championship 2019 take place in Brachfeld (Germany) from the 29 to 31 August. This year, the Junior competition by pair is proposed. You can find all information in the 2019 TREC rules updated in April.

500 riders for the 500 years of Chambord

The FITE is a partner of the 500 riders of Chambord, organised for the anniversary of the Renaissance. French Equestrian that we know today take its origins in this period of history. This event is an opportunity to celebrate the history of Chambord with a hiking and equestrian strolling. See you on June 29th and 30th, 2019!

Equirando 2019

The Equirando returns from August 1st to 4th, 2019 in the Haras de Breviaires in Yvelines. As in previous editions, the FITE is one of the main partners of the event.

The Eurasian

The FITE support the Eurasian project aims to connect in Grenoble to Vietnam. This project promotes soft traveling, develop equestrian routes in many countries, but also bring the need for equestrian cross-border agreements.
