Jean-Pierre Blache, president of the French NETO, Wu Gangfang, president of the Chinese Horse Culture Sports Tourism Federation and Frédéric Bouix, president of the FITE and executive director of the FFE.

Following the European Championships of TREC Young Riders organised on the Equestrian federal Park in Lamotte-Beuvron (France), the General assembly of the Fédération Internationale de Tourisme Equestre (FITE), took place on the 3rd of September 2017.

16 NETOs out of 21 participated to this General assembly. Jean-Pierre BLACHE represented the France NETO as its president.

Frédéric BOUIX, president of the Fédération Internationale de Tourisme Equestre, came back on the main activities of this last financial year, and particularly on two significant facts in terms of recognition of the FITE on the international stage: the signature of a Memorandum of Understanding with the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) and the agreement between France/ Benelux facilitating the cross of boarders on horseback.

The FITE is also very committed to reinforce its role in the setting of big itineraries – within the EU Committee like its participation to the European Route d'Artagnan – and alongside the Council of Europe through which the FITE can bring its equestrian expertise to the European Cultural Routes.

The report of the technical delegate, Thierry MAUROUARD, underlines the development of different disciplines managed by the FITE. TREC, but also working equitation and horseback archery, have indeed experienced a very reach year in terms of competitions and results. This dynamism, in particular with the new disciplines, reinforces the sport legitimacy of the FITE.

The General assembly actually approved the creation of sport commissions dedicated to each discipline managed by the FITE, valorising its expertise on an international scale. For the TREC Commission, Marc Renard from the Belgium NETO will ensure its presidency.

Finally, M.Wu Gangfang, president of the Chinese Horse Culture Sports Tourism Federation, presented the activities of his organisation, before the General assembly officialised its approval of the new membership of China to the FITE.

The Fédération Internationale de Tourisme Equestre has once again confirmed its strong position as the key actor for the development of equestrian tourism around the world.
