On 16th October 2018, the General Assembly of the European Horse Network (hereafter “EHN”) took place in Brussels during which the FITE was elected as a Board member.

Member since October 2015, the FITE applied to the Board with the purpose of participating actively and carrying issues of equestrian tourism and soft travel.

This non-profit organisation gathers 26 bodies, representing several equine activities. Its objective is the equine sector development in Europe ensuring better visibility of this sector and setting a platform for exchanges with European institutions on their common issues.

By integrating the EHN Board, the FITE wants to pursue the work done by this network towards European bodies, while the European Parliament and the European Commission will be renewed in 2019. It wants also, to continue the common work done, for example, on regulations about identification and movements of equine animals within the European Union.

During this General Assembly, all former members were re-elected, joined also by the French cluster Hippolia.

At the end of this General Assembly, a conference “Responsible care throughout the life of equines”, hosted by the Members of the European Parliament, Julie GIRLING and Jean ARTHUIS, took place within this institution.
